The publishing company in Korea which possesses the copyrights to the song ‘Right Round’ revealed their stand about GDragon’s upcoming solo album title song ‘Heartbreaker’ which was said to have plagiarised that of ‘Right Round’.
They said on 14th August, “The recently revealed song ‘Heartbreaker’ has received much attention for possibly having plagiarised that of ‘Right Round’. But since only 30seconds to the song has been revealed and is not fully released, we are currently monitoring the situation.”
They continued, “Because there is a possibility they will make changes to the officially released song. In the case where they did not do any amendments, and where we think it is appropriate, we will send the song to Warner Music America. Other publishing companies who possesses the copyrights to the song have also planned to do the same.”
Meanwhile, GDragon revealed a teaser to the title song ‘HeartBreaker’ on 11th August, but netizens have pointed out that the song plagiarises that of Flo Rida’s ‘Right Round’. But YG Entertainment have came out to say that the song is a collaboate composition between GDragon and a Swiss producer and that fans should wait for the full song release to tell.

hmmm….. well I just can’t say anything anymore.. BUT like the publishing company said: thers a possibility YG might change the song a bit…. so Netizens… shouldn’t really say anything just because they heard a 30 sec of what sounds like “Right Round” They need to remember that the FULL ALBUM hasn’t been released yet.
there is no way in GD’s right mind will he change the song. its his creation, i’ll be F@#$ing piss off if i have to change my own piece of art work. why make it hard people. if it was plagiarising, then the whole song will be plagiarise, not just some elements of it. stupid stupid stupid.
It really depends on how the publishing company and Time Warner. Flo Rida wouldn’t be my first choice of artist to have accusaions of plagiarism. It they come to an agreement and feel that G-Dragon/YG Entertainment has committed an act of plagiarism then lawsuit would be file against them. I don’t think YG or G-Dragon wants that now or anyone else who is responsible. This album isn’t complete yet and GD is only allowing fans to review the ruff tracks. It clever, he is following blogs and reading response very carefully of what fans like and what is bad publicity. The more people talk ill about this album the more it becomes hype up.
In American music industry there isn’t much originality left everyone is on remake mode or “borrowing” from other artist. The same with Kpop also were its the same sh!t being recycle. Were is the creactivity and artistry that music once had. Yes, the visually aspects are important but I miss artist that once sung, rap, and played from their very souls.
Add least G-Dragon is trying to experiment more with his music minus the talk of plagiarism. His tracks so different types of music that he manage to put together. I’m happy that G-Dragon went to Japan and learn a lot from Japanese artist verse Korean artist. Japanese artist have more individuality then Korean artist and explore music from other regions of world. Music can tell you a story and lyrics just narrate what is happening.I like artist who think in the concept verse making a hit song to sell.
TOTALLY AGREE with you….
GD is to do his “comeback” on August 23 on Inkigayo? Following this on all kpop recently and all the talk of plagiarism is on popseoul.
Thus far a lot of people want “the Leaders” to be his debut verse “heartbreaker” and the rest. can’t disagree.
